Horses and Salad!

Hello Dear Friends!
I would like to begin this post by sharing several photographs of our horses with you! Today, I went out into our field and decided to take some pictures of our three beauties! :) Enjoy!

Elvis (my horse) decided to go for a little run in the field today! :)

Wrangler, my brother's horse.

Fanny May!

My cute, but crazy horse, Elvis! :)

This is one of my favorites of Wrangler!

Wrangler is so photogenic! :)

Sweet Wrangler!

While walking out to see the horses, I ran into this leaf! I felt the
urge to take a picture of it! :)

What a beautiful creation of God! :)

I would like to end this post with a wonderful and easy salad recipe. I made this salad last night, and it was so good!

The completed salad!

I decided to layer it!

So many yummy things inside!
What you'll need:
  • Baby Spinach (you could use lettuce as well!)
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Cucumber
  • Several Baby Carrots
  • 1 Red pepper
  • Cran Raisins
  • Honey Roasted Peanuts
  • Rotisserie Chicken
  • Feta Cheese

Many of these ingredients are optional! You could also add many other things to it! :)

Steps to making it:

I decided to layer my salad, so first I put some baby spinach in the bottom (a few, large handfuls... depending on how big or small your bowl is.)
Cut up your tomato, cucumber, carrots, red pepper, and rotisserie chicken. Put these cut-up items on top of the spinach.
Continue these layers until the salad bowl is full. I decided to add some cran raisins, honey roasted peanuts, and feta cheese on top.

Although this is a very common and ordinary salad, I thought it would be fun to share with you how I make mine, and what I put in it! :)
I would love to know if you could add anything to this recipe! Leave me a comment, and tell me what else you think would be good in this salad.

May God bless you and your family in this New Year of 2010!!!

Blessings,
